A look back at the 2021 Asia Pacific Amateur Women’s Championship (WAAP)

Held at Abu Dhabi Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 10-13 November, the 2021 Asia Pacific Women’s Amateur Championship (WAAP): a major addition to the APGC golf calendar after last year’s postponement due to COVID- 19.

The WAAP offers leading female golfers the chance to compete with their peers, but it also acts as an inspiration to all aspiring golfers.

This year’s historic win at the US Women’s Open by Yuka Saso, a co-finalist in the inaugural WAAP, has served to underline the importance of this championship as a platform for the development of the game and the rise of talent in the region. Mizuki Hashimoto took a close victory. Australia’s Kelsey Bennett finished a close second behind Thai duo Kan Bunnabodee and Natthakritta Vongtaveelap, with Nagano Inagaki three shots back in third after a closing 68.
